For early Tesla Model Y customers, Christmas has come early this year as Tesla has officially begun sending out e-mails to customers to schedule delivery dates for their new vehicles.

The e-mails have been Tweeted out by numerous Tesla Model Y customers online.

Congratulations! Your Model Y is ready for delivery in March 2020.

The next step for you is to confirm when you’re able to take delivery so we can ensure the best experience possible.

Once you confirm your availability, we’ll send you an update in the coming days to notify you when you can log into your Tesla Account and complete any remaining steps such as financing or trade-in. Your Tesla adviser will be available to answer any additional questions you may have.

We’re excited to have Model Y join your home and be a part of your transition to sustainable energy.

Welcome to the Tesla family.”

Customers have the option of scheduling a delivery date sometime between March 15, 2020 and March 31, 2020 from 8AM to 10PM.

According to the numerous excited Model Y customers who have posted their delivery e-mails, it appears that Tesla is delivering just the Model Y Performance variant at this time. Customers in both the east coast and west coast of the United States have been receiving the e-mails.

The Tesla Model Y is Tesla’s first entry into the electric crossover SUV (CUV) market. It currently comes in two variants, the The Tesla Model Y Long Range and the Tesla Model Y Performance.

  • Tesla Model Y Long Range: 0-60 MPH in 4.8 seconds, 315 miles of range (EPA estimated), 135mph top speed, and a starting price of $52,990.
  • Tesla Model Y Performance: 0-60 MPH in less than 3.5 seconds, 315 miles of range (EPA estimated), 145mph top speed, and a starting price of $60,990. A performance upgrade may be added to the performance model that reduces range to 280 miles, but adds performance brakes, 21’’ Überturbine Wheels, lowered suspension, aluminum alloy pedals, and increases top speed to 155mph.

Both variants can also have the option for a $3,000 upgrade to a 7-seat configuration as well as a $7,000 option for Full Self Driving, which will be added once the feature is complete.

The Tesla Model Y shares a platform with the Tesla Model 3 and according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, utilizes about 76% of the same parts. It was originally planned for delivery in Fall 2020, but Tesla surprised the community by pulling forward the launch of the vehicle to March of this year.

Those interested in securing a Tesla Model Y may currently order one at the Tesla website.
